WA: Perth man clocked doing 203 km/h
PERTH, April 10 AAP - A Perth man without a driver's licence has been clocked driving
at 203 km/h while talking on his mobile phone, police say.
Police spokeswoman Dianne Simpson said traffic enforcement officers clocked the man
at 12.45am (WST) today.
"The Holden SS ute was travelling at 203 km/h in a 100 km/h zone on Roe Highway," Sergeant
Simpson said.
"The driver admitted he had been talking on his mobile phone."
The man then underwent a breath test.
A 33-year-old man from Carlisle in Perth's east has been charged with being over the
0.05 per cent blood alcohol limit, reckless driving and driving without a driver's licence.
He is due to appear in the Fremantle Magistrates Court next Tuesday.
His ute has been impounded for 48 hours under WA hoon legislation.
